International Talk Like a Pirate Day Party

Yes, you read that right.

September 19th, for those of you that didn't know, is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Daddy has very enthusiastically celebrated this holiday every year for a number of years now. (He even showed up for work with his pirate costume on one year!) Daddy was so excited about it that, in 2006, he convinced Mom that they should have a party for the holiday. It was apparently such fun that they decided to make it an annual event. This year was the third annual TLAP Day party! (For more information on the holiday, see this website.)

Dad and Mom kept saying that I am the newest Collins Buccaneer, "Elli the Fierce". But really, I am the new captain, as my outfit plainly shows. How do you like the parrot on my shoulder?

So many people got into the spirit of the the holiday again this year. Here are pictures of just a few of them...

Grandpa and Grandma...

Great Aunt Nan and Great Uncle Larry...
Uncle Joel, Aunt Angela, and my cousin Hannah came all the way from Virginia. Don't you love the parrot on their shoulder? :-)

Uncle Russ and Aunt Anne came from Indiana, along with their bird. Needless to say, the other kids were pretty fascinated with the bird.
A family of pirates!
