First words - Tuesday, June 2 - "All done!" as she threw her food off of her highchair tray. :-)
First "ouch" that required a bandaid (that wasn't inflicted by a doctor) - June 10 - We were in Gatlinburg, TN with our whole family, Doug was holding her, and he slipped down the side of a hill. In an effort to protect Elli from the bushes he was falling into, he held her up over his head. Fortunately, she just scraped her leg a little and was none the worse for wear the next day. :-)
First time standing on her own for any length of time - May 20 - her birthday!
First step - June 7 - in Gatlinburg, TN, with Aunt Angela, Aunt Anne, Nana and Mom watching.
First time taking more than one real step - Wednesday, July 22.
First time swallowing anything of significance from a straw cup (or anything that wasn't breastmilk straight from the source) - Friday, August 14. Yep, that's right, she's starting to figure it out, I think! She's swallowed a little something liquid each day since then, and although she really has to think hard about it, I think we're on the right track!
