Sunday, December 28 was Elli's baby dedication at church. Here's a picture of her in her beautiful dress (which I think came from Uncle Steve & Aunt Amy and may have been worn by Allison for her baby dedication, but since they don't remember this dress, I may be mistaken). :-)
Pastor Andrew picked up Elli during the dedication. A month ago, that would have been no problem, but she recently has started developing some stranger anxiety, especially with men that have facial hair. :-) She studied him very carefully for a moment, and then started wailing. She continued fussing throughout the rest of the dedication.
50 years ago, a friend from church was expecting her first child. She purchased a girls slip and boys outfit, since she didn't know which she was going to have. She ended up having two boys, so she held onto the slip, figuring she'd give it to a granddaughter someday. As it turned out, she only had grandsons, so 50 years later, she still had the slip. When Elli was born, she decided it was time to let go of the slip, and she gave it to Elli. We were so touched by such a meaningful and thoughtful gift. We decided she should wear the slip for her baby dedication, so here's a picture of her in the slip.
Here is Elli with her cousins after after her baby dedication.
